PRAYER
Jesus said, “It is written, "My house shall be called a house of prayer..." Matthew 21:13
At Church on the Rock we are committed to praying in four key ways:
THE INDIVIDUAL
Jesus said, "But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you." (Matthew 6:6). We urge one another to maintain a daily personal prayer and devotion time. If Jesus needed time alone with The Father, how much more do we?
THE FAMILY
As disciples of Jesus, our first and primary ministry is to our family. "And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (Acts 16:31). We urge one another to pray with and for our families daily. As we remain faithful in this, not only will our family's begin to see salvation, but God's grace will undoubtedly spill over into our neighborhoods.
THE CHURCH
Jesus said, “It is written, "My house shall be called a house of prayer." (Matthew 21:13). We don't want to be a church that simply has "Prayer Meetings". We long to be a praying church. We will continually urge one another to "pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
THE COMMUNITY
Not only do we urge one another to pray with and for other local expressions of the Body of Christ in the region, but we will intentionally combine our prayer efforts to present a unified front against Satan, sin, and his works and effects.
THE WORLD
Jesus said, "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations." (Mark 11:17 ESV). We urge one another to remain faithful in praying for the salvation of the world through Jesus Christ. As one united voice we ask for the nations (Psalm 2:8).
