MARYLAND CHURCH ON THE ROCK © 2010. All rights reserved. Design by Kendall Conner.
A PLACE TO BELIEVE
•In the Bible as the inspired and infallible Word of God (II Timothy 3:15-16).
•In one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Deut. 6:4; Matt. 28:19; Mark 12:29).
•In the virgin birth of Christ, His vicarious, atoning death; bodily resurrection, and ascension (Isaiah 7:14; Romans 8:34; Acts 1:10).
•In salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ (I John 5:10; Romans 10:13-15).
•In baptism by immersion (Matthew 28:19).
•In divine healing through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross (Isaiah 53:4; Matt, 8:16,17; James 5:13,14).
•In the baptism with the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:4; 10:44-46; 19:6).
•In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit which enables a believer to live a holy life (Hebrews 12:14; I Peter 1:15, 16).
•In the second coming of Jesus Christ (Acts 24:15; Lk. 14:14; Rev.19:7-9).
A PLACE TO BELONG
•God created you to be a part of His family. (The church)
•God is the One who made all things, and all things are for his Glory. He wanted to have many children share his glory. (Hebrews 2:10 NCV)
•See how very much our Heavenly Father loves us, for He allows us to be called His children and we really are. (1 John 3:1 NLT)
•If you are seeking membership and service in his church you should have already experienced the New Birth (John 3:5-9) and have received or be earnestly seeking the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4-5).
•It is also expected that you be baptized by immersion (Matt. 28:19).
•You should develop the practice of daily prayer, Bible study, personal witnessing, and be faithful to attend worship services. You should refrain from worldliness (I John 2:15-16), such as (1) participating in activities which defies the body or corrupts the mind and spirit; (2) having an inordinate love of, or preoccupation with, pleasures, position, or possessions which lead to their misuse; (3) manifesting extreme behavior, unbecoming speech, or inappropriate appearance; (4) having a fascination or association which lessens ones affection for spiritual things. (See Luke 21:34,35; Romans 8:5-8; 12:1,2; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; Ephesians 5:11; I Timothy 2:8-10, 4:12; Titus 2:12; James 4:4; I John 2:15-17 )
A PLACE TO SERVE
You Were Created To Serve - It is God himself who has made us what we are and gives us new lives from Christ Jesus; and long ages ago he planned that we should spend these lives in helping others. (Eph.2:10 LB)
Know and Accept Your Assignment - I glorified you on Earth by completing down to the last detail that You assigned me to do. (John 17:4 MSG)
